A faculty member explained what phone interview is going to be.
He said, basically, the phone interview is a "getting-to-know-you" step in the ongoing screening and hiring process. If the script is the same as with his experience, the interviewee will be asked about his/her pedagogy, general teaching track-record, professional applications of his/her degree (if any) and whether or not he/she is familiar with some of the tenets of being a faculty member, such as proprietary grading system (Like Blackboard, etc.), writing journal articles,and conducting research.
It's not particularly intensive, and he wound up having quite an enjoyable chat with his interviewer.
